For over 20 years, Traditions School of Herbal Studies has been a leader in herbal education within the Tampa Bay community. We offer engaging weekly classes on a diverse range of topics, including herbal medicine-making, anatomy and physiology, Chinese medicine, Ayurvedic medicine, and more.
Our two-year programs in Western and Chinese Herbal Medicine are among the most comprehensive in the U.S., featuring a supervised, hands-on intern clinic. This unique model allows students to progress from observing senior practitioners to treating patients, all under the guidance of experienced clinical supervisors. Our programs align with the rigorous standards of the American Herbalist Guild, preparing graduates to become registered herbalists.

Traditions’ sister company, Acupuncture and Herbal Therapies, is a comprehensive clinic offering acupuncture, herbal consultations in Chinese, Western, and Ayurvedic herbalism, and energy/spiritual consults. Additionally, we provide a student clinic on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings at reduced rates.
Acu Herbals also houses the largest apothecary in the Southeast, featuring an extensive collection of over 800 Western and Chinese herbs, supplements, smudge bundles, and healthy dog treats. The apothecary is complemented by a small plant nursery and a half-acre medicinal garden located at the school.
